The new headline is that Calif is now projecting a budget shortfall of $16,000,000,000.
That is Billions with a B not Millions with an M.
Our Governors response is not unexpected.
RAISE TAX'S OR CUT SCHOOL'S, COPS, AND COLLEGES
Oh no... let's all run to hills and hide!!!
Or here's a thought???
Maybe we should ask why there will be a budget shortfall!
WOW... There is a thought.
Because I heard an economist sharing that several decades age 75% of the California State Budget came from business. Today it comes from people. Why the difference?
Because for the last thirty years government has run business out of California.
I was speaking to the owner of a fast food restaurant in Highland. He was trying to get the grand opening ready. The date was announced. Everything was go. Until the inspector saw the baby changing station in the ladies room. You don't need to have a baby changing table. But he did it as a courtesy. However, in the state of California if you put in when... then the men need one as well. Fair is fair so the man explained to the inspector that he would be happy to order another changing table and schedule the worker who could drill through the custom wall and safely attach it.
But that wasn't good enough! The inspector was adamant. Until the second changing table was in there would be no grand opening. Or the man could rip out the one table. That would leave a big hole in the wall, but the inspector didn't really care. He had dotted his I and crossed his T.
Maybe our Governor should focus on fixing the business environment in California.
If business would come back the tax base will go up and everybody can get paid!
Or we can raise tax's and run off more people with means and the companies they work for!
That is certainly the way the fix the economy!
Blessings,
Paul
