Meetings and Votes by Poppie Paul

If I were an anti-Zionist atheist Democratic delegate to the DNC I would be ticked!  When the amendment to the plank was presented and the vote conducted the look on the LA Major's face told the whole story.  He was shocked.  He did not expect fifty percent of his party to vote against including God and Jerusalem in the party plank.

I didn't expect that many delegates to vote against God and Israel.  Hearing the speeches lauding abortion, tax's, and unions were not surprising.  Suggestions that Republicans were all sexist, racist, bigoted homophobes were to be expected.  Prominently displaying people displaced by Bain Capital was a strategic move by the Convention planners.  Speakers demanding that Catholic and Christian organizations provide products and procedures that violate their religious convictions was par for the course.

But when the good Major realized that the Ayes did not have it he was stunned.  So he did the only think he could.  He did a re-vote.  TWICE!  And that's when the look on his face made it clear that he was stuck.  The no's were as loud and more demonstrative than the yeses.  So the Major did the only thing he could do.  He threw out any sense of integrity and read from the teleprompter.  He claimed that 2/3 of the group had voice voted yes and declared the amendment passed.  Then the no's rose to their feet and booed.

It is interesting that the Democratic party could not even conduct an honest vote amongst their own delegates.  I say again what I said in the beginning... If I were an anti-Zionist atheist I would be furious that my own party refused to listen to my vote.  I would be ticked over the shameless way they pursued their political agenda over the top of my violated rights.

If it wasn't so serious it would be funny.  But when half the delegates of a major America political party vote against God and Israel it is a serious business.  You need to wonder what the women holding he Arab American sign was thinking as she shook her head after the vote.  I hope she was thinking that the Democratic party just disenfranchised her and her vote.

If anybody thought the vote at the convention was a mistake... just read today's decision by the White House for Barack Obama to maintain his busy campaign schedule at the expense of meeting with the Prime Minister of Israel!  This at a time when the window for preventing Iran's march toward a nuclear weapon is closing quickly.

Major Anthony Villaraigosa threw the delegates under the bus while they were trying to throw God and Israel under the bus.  I sincerely hope that all Americans of both parties realize the importance of these three votes!  I pray they vote accordingly in November!

May God open our eyes,
Poppie Paul

Here is the clip of the event.
I encourage you to watch it for yourself.
